About Ed

Ed is a dedicated lifelong resident of Lake George with a deep commitment to his community. After graduating from Lake George Central School in 1976, he earned his Bachelor’s degree from Alfred University and an MBA from the College of St. Rose. Ed’s career as an educator at Minerva Central School spanned 32 years, during which he made a lasting impact on countless students before retiring in 2020.

Beyond education, Ed is the proud owner of The Barnsider BBQ restaurant, a local favorite, and shares his life and love for the Adirondacks with his wife, Melissa Pagnotta, who owns & operates Dreamweaver Group Travel. Ed's strong commitment to Lake George is evident in his active community involvement and support of local events.

Ed has coached high school athletics, served on numerous school and town committees, and is currently a member of the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) committee and a board member of the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce. His extensive experience and passion for his hometown drive his dedication to preserving Lake George’s unique character while thoughtfully managing its growth.

It is paramount to me to not only advocate for the success of our local businesses but also to actively foster and promote sustainable economic growth within Lake George. By creating an environment that encourages entrepreneurial spirit and collaboration, I aim to strengthen our local economy, ensuring that it thrives and contributes to the overall prosperity of our community. My commitment is to support initiatives that drive economic development while maintaining the unique character and charm of our town.
Transparency and Accountability

​My foremost goal is to champion transparency, accountability, and ethical governance within the Town Board. I am committed to fostering an environment where decisions are made with openness and integrity, ensuring that the governing process is both accessible and accountable to the community. 
Community Improvement

With deep, generational ties to this community, I am profoundly committed to making a positive impact. My goal is to leverage my experience and dedication to elevate the quality of life for all Lake George residents, ensuring our town thrives while preserving its unique character.
Education

As a community, we need to find ways to increase the population of our school.  Affordable housing and job growth will hopefully change the downward trend of our school student enrollment.
Environment
 
​Preserving the natural beauty of Lake George and the Adirondacks is everyone's responsibility.  I will try to listen to experts regarding environmental issues and make informed decisions on what's best for are town.  I am dedicated to implementing sustainable practices and policies to protect our environment and maintain the charm of our town.
Housing

Affordable housing is a significant challenge for many upstate communities. I am dedicated to actively addressing this issue and working towards practical solutions that make affordable housing a reality for our residents.
